Brown's Leisure World is a third generation family-owned business that started out in Spy Hill Saskatchewan
as a Hardware Store way back in 1943. In 1961 we relocated our business to Yorkton, where it has been growing
strong ever since. We are located on Highway #10 East and operate out of a 24,000 sq.ft. state of the art building.
Brown's Leisure World is a company that specializes in the following leisure products:
- Arctic Cat Snowmobiles, Arctic Cat ATV's and Arctic Cat Prowlers
- Gulf Stream travel trailers and 5th wheels(Gulf Stream home page)

In 1943 Roy Brown established a hardware store in Spy Hill, SK. In 1947, Roy’s brother Gordon
formed a partnership with Roy, adding a grocery store and dry goods outlet.
They also became an International Harvester dealer, this was the beginning of “Brown Bros”.
We are now in our 65th year of this 3rd generation family business.
Throughout these 65 years, 2 themes have prevailed:
- A tradition of being involved with and providing service to the community.
- Diversification and change to adapt to the changing world of business.
Changes Through the Years
- Volkswagon was added to the Spy Hill operation.
- Massey Ferguson was added when a new dealership was opened in Bredenbury in 1956.
- In 1961, in response to drought, Bredenbury and Spy Hill operations were closed, and a Massey Ferguson dealership was established in Yorkton.
- Short lines such as Wil-Rich and Flexicoil were added to round out the farming community’s needs.
- In 1980, a satellite location was opened in Preeceville until 1987.
- In 1982 an autobody shop began operation.
- In 1983 Parkland Ag Parts Supply opened its doors to sell “will fit” parts.
- In 1988 Lorne and Vern Brown purchased Martin’s Plymouth Chrysler.
- In 1988 Ford New Holland was purchased
- In 1991 a second car dealership, Northern Motors, was purchased.
- In the early 90’s, began repairing and selling parts for recreational trailers, and in 1993 were awarded a Travelaire dealership.
- In 1995 officially became an Arctic Cat snowmobile dealer.
- In 1998 became an authorized truck and transport repair center.
- In 1999, the Chrysler dealership was sold and the name changed to Brown’s Leisure World.
- In 2001

Community Involvment
- Numerous activities in small town SK and the city of Yorkton (service clubs, church groups, community events, 4-H, Scouts)
- Membership with Chamber of Commerce
- Sponsorship of community and sporting events
- Floats in Summer & Santa Claus parade (prize-winning floats)
- Delivery of snowmobile safety courses with Parkland Regional College
- Membership with the Yorkton Stock Car Club
- Sit on the Yorkton Terrier Hockey club executive

- First dealership to provide car shuttle service for customers (an idea born in a Chamber of Commerce seminar).
- Commitment to staff - proud to have 2 staff members each having more than 25 years of service (Dan Fisher, Dwain Maleschuk).
- Received Chrysler Service Award.
- Receipt of top volume dealer awards for Canada 1964, 1965 and 1966 for Massey Ferguson.
- First Massey Ferguson dealer to become a certified master service dealer.
- Arctic Cat Dealer of the Year for Canada 1997
- 3 technicians received “Gold Arctic Cat Catmasters Technician Award”, the only two in Canada in 2001. Only 6 other dealers worldwide had this level of certification. Since then there has been several others. Brown’s is the only dealership (worldwide) with 3 “Catmasters”
- Arctic Cat World Class showroom, the first one in Saskatchewan.
- One of the first businesses in Yorkton to have computerized records.
- www.brownsleisureworld.com receives over 85,000 hits per day and is the largest on-line Arctic Cat Parts website in Canada.
- On-line orders are sent everyday to places all over the world, such as:

• and many more (even Tonkin)
- The website received “Best Informational Site” award at Sask e-fair 2001.
- 2002 Celebrate Success Awards in Yorkton we were given the “Wall of Success Award”.
- 2003-2004 were awarded the “Saskatchewan Snowmobile Dealer of the Year”.
- 2005 our World Class Showroom was given another face lift.
- 2007 Arctic Cat awarded us with “Canadian Platinum Dealer of the Year”.
- 2008 Arctic Cat awarded us with "Canadian Platinum Dealer of the Year".
- 2009 Arctic Cat awarded us with "Canadian Platinum Dealer of the Year".
